Hello, could someone tell me which is the better quality
Tape or hard drive/card.
The reason I ask is that I am looking for a replaement for my Panasonic SDR-H60 I really need to go up to a better quality picture and the best zoom possible because it is for wild life. Are tape cameras being phased out?
I have noticed that the zoom on the broadcast quality cameras dont seem as powerfull as the one that I have already (50x) or are the lower figures on the pro type cameras lets say 12x as powerfull because of the difference in image size,If this makes sense.

Its a digital image, so the quality is the same regardless of the media its stored on. The quality comes down to the lens and the image processors.

Are you looking at HD or regular SD camera?

And as for zoom, I presume the 50x zoom on your current camera is digital zoom, whereas pro cameras use optical zoom, the difference is that optical zoom doesn't lose any image quality, whereas digital simply 'blows up' an image so you lose quality the more you zoom

The zoom is 50x optical and wait for it! 2500x which gives me a nice close up of a pixel.
