Cheaper equivalent of Sony HDR-FX1? Is there one?

Hi guys

i have a couple of HDR-FX1's which I love, I now need to buy 2 spare's but before I buy 2 of the same, is there another camera that will shoot in the same HD format and edit together seemlessly on the timeline?

I am after a quick response to this as I was on the verge of clicking buy for 2 FX1's when I thought of this question!

Thanks

Are you after two second hand cams, similar older models are the fx-7 and z1,new models include the fx1000 and z5/7 all would work with your cams in a reasonable way.

Re: Cheaper equivalent of Sony HDR-FX1? Is there one?

cheers guys, I couldnt find an FX7 for a good enough price (could only find it new for £1600) so I decided to buy a 2nd hand FX1 for £1200. Just gotta keep my eye out for another one now.

that new price was very good and at least you would have known the mileage but 400£ is 400£

Re: Cheaper equivalent of Sony HDR-FX1? Is there one?

yeah I guess so, but as a spare camera, it will not be used a huge amount so mileage is not as important.

If anyone has a PAL FX1 they're selling PM me as I need to get another one now.

Thanks to all for their advice
