LCD Screen is blank

I got Sony Handycam DCR-HC40E. The problem is LCD screen is not displaying anything. its completely blank. Got any idea? although i can c thru the small window but its annoying. i want to know the problem and solution before going to the service center. plsssssssssssss help!!!!

You haven't inadvertently turned off the LCD in the menu have you. There probably is an option somewhere for this.

The same thing happened to my sony hc1 i had to send it for repair.
