Avchd to play on normal DVD player

Hi

I have a AVCHD Sony Camcorder. If i wanted to create a DVD that would play on anyone's normal DVD player, how would i do it?
Would i have to convert first or will some software convert while copying?

Some software that i have:

Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate
VoltaicHD
Oxygen AVCHD Player
VLC Player
Nero 8 (Vision etc)
Tunebite

Thanks

Matt
