Best for £400 - HD Camcorder?

Hello,

I'm after suggestions for a full HD camcorder with a price range of £400.

I would prefer HDD but I don't mind DV tapes.

Thanks for your help

Chris

Panasonic SD9 (records to memory cards) or if you feel like spending a further £130, the Canon HF100.

If you haven't already, then give some thought to how you intend to view, edit, distribute, & archive your video, as HD brings with it a host of handling conundrums - none insurmountable, but if, for example, you want to use your PC to view & edit your HD clips, you'll need something with a fair amount of grunt and a massive hard drive.

Re: Best for £400 - HD Camcorder?

Thanks for the suggestions, I've got a 4.5 terrabyte media centre i've built so I've got plenty of space at the moment, and my work horse computer is a quad core with 8gb of RAM and 2 1tb drives. (I like computer games).
THis is why I have a tight budget :S

I'll look into the panasonic and the canon. Thanks for your help.
