Sony TG3 question-screen

Hello, hope someone can answer my question
Is there a way to film while having the screen closed. Im planning to take the camera with me snowboarding and would like to film while riding down the mountain. Im not a great boarder and think that if I was to take a spill the screen may get damaged if I have the screen flipped out. I do realise that I can record if I flip the screen round but would prefer if I could film with the screen totally protected.
Thanks

The only way to record is as you descibe, you can turn the display off by pressing the display button (saving the battery)
If your determined I would try making a cover, some thin sponge and hard plastic cut to size with some highly technical elastic bands to hold it in place
