MT2S files suddenly started freezing...

MT2S files form my panasonic SD9 have been playing fine using the CORE media player, though occasionally a little choppy.
Suddenly, after months of working, they now only play a few seconds then freeze. The player doesn't lock up, in fact the "play" bar at the bottom keeps advancing forward as if it were playing, but the image itself freezes.

Any thoughts???

Re: MT2S files suddenly started freezing...

Have you tried using any other player to help eliminate the root of the problem?
I use both Media Player Classic and VLC media player
to play the m2ts files from my Panasonic SD5 (predecessor to the SD9)

Both players are freeware

Re: MT2S files suddenly started freezing...

Well, I had the horrendous "go.Google" trojan, and had to go through many convolutions of registry and other fixes to restore my computer. I re-installed the coreAVC pro codecs, just as I did originally, but this made it worse.

Re: MT2S files suddenly started freezing...

I didn't have a trojan but very curiously, mpc classic has decided that it can't play .MTS files for me today too! Used to be fine, using CoreAVC. It still says it's using Coreavc, but both audio and video are missing. Most strange. I recall playing a few clips from one of the online sites, The Times etc and I upgraded Flash last week. Other than that, I can't think of anything that I've changed
