JVC GZ-MG330 - any good?

I'm looking for a decent camcorder at a reasonable price, nothing special, and this has got my attention.

Any opinions, good or bad, appreciated.

Re: JVC GZ-MG330 - any good?

In the past JVCs pocket friendly Everios have been very user friendly but falling down where it matters most.. video quality ( Actually to be fair, this applies to offerings from Sony as well)

Also like Panasonic thier mpeg2 file as *.MOD have not found favour with all Editing software ( or indeed playback media players)

I would imagine those niggles are not the case anymore

As for video a cursory enquiry suggests these newer ones have better video quality even if they are bereft on any frills
My gut feeling is it will probably please you
I would however suggest you buy where you can return it if you find it dissapointing
Low light video quality and performance with movt are ares to look out for: It should be fine in normal daylight
30Gb is reasonable . I would however always calculate video time on the basis of best quality. Any less quality is probably going to be awful
Im not sure how much you are getting it for but Canons FS100 would be worth a look as an alternative

Thanks for that. The best offer I have found so far is Argos @£220.

Seems reasonable .Argos dont do returns on camcorders cameras Christmas cards and underwear .
This may apply more to their 16 day no questions asked returns policy rather than you right to return if you feel its not fit for purpose though
I would give the FS100 a look as well though. Its Stills are better and it has one or 2 more " frills" including mic-in
It uses removable cards which might appeal to you or not
As cards are cheap, you can get a few, and use USB card readers rather than tether the camcorder to a PC for download

Good luck
