Editing HD footage

Planning on buying an HDV Camera.

What works for editing and mastering?

Currently using Ulead Video Studio 9 and TMPGENC 3.0 Express

Thanks for any advice

Re: Editing HD footage

For editing all the current tiles work fine
For mastering
What are you mastering to?
Ulead ( Corel) 11.5/ X2 seems to be the favourite at pocket friendly budgets
Ulead MovieFactory 6 + for arthoring
and Corel X2 for editing and Disc creating

This software uses a license verification system (L.E.A.P.System) which requires Internet Connection.
After the first installation of the software, the license validation (activation) will be processed when starting the program. And it will also be processed periodically from time to time.
Therefore, the PC using this software must be connected to the Internet.

In environments like universities or companies using LAN, we cannot guarantee that the license verification will be correctly processed due to restrictions that might be set.

I really dont like software that assumes its purchasers need checking on from time to time
We put up with it with Bill Gates' software ( OS+Office suite) ( when we need additional goodies,) but it means anyone with TMPEGenc needs to have Internet connection;
In Video terms this is actually not a good idea as workstations work better without antisypware / antivirus ect which you cannot afford to have if you are tethered to the WWW
I have no objection to one time activation but periodic validation sucks!
Rant over
