Which HDD camcorder? Advice needed quickly please

Guys, I'm abroad and it looks like camcorders are not as expensive as the UK - a Sony SR12, for example, is 560 euros compared to 650 quid in the UK.
Which is the best HDD camcorder to get in the 500-100 price range?
Picture quality a must. No tapes.
Your advice appreciated. Only have tomorrow to purchase.
Thanks.

If it were me, SR11 / SR12 or HF100. Probably the Sony if price were no object.
