Is it worthwhile to go from a Sony HDR-SR1 to Sony HDR-SR12?

Okay, I currently have a Sony HDR-SR1..it is a 30 GB HD, and records in AVCHD.

I am thinking of getting a new Sony HDR-SR12. Are there enough differences to justify it? My big complaint about the SR1 is that the mic picks up a ton of wind noise when I am doing sound clips, and there is no real image stabilization. From reading the docs on the SR12 it fixes this, plus add a better lens, face recognition, and night vision. I really want to do it...but I also am trying to decide if ithe dfference between the two is worth shelling the extra money for?

Just wondering if anyone has some hands on experiance?

the sr 11/12 is being replaced by the hdr-xr 500v/xr-520v models which add further improvements but they will probobly be more expensive, the sr 12/11s may drop in price ,yes the sr 11/12 are far superior to to your sr1

I have done my first real comparison test between my FX-7 and SR-12 today, the old bedroom 1984 sony profeel had finaly given up and a new panasonic-TX32LXD80 has replaced it,so having hdmi,s available[too much hassle down stairs pulling out the existing connections]the results i got in long side by side shots showed the SR12 to have less noise and a sharper slightly higher res picture using hdmi inputs 1 + 2.
