troubles with DV tapes

Hello,
I've bought a Digital Video Camera JVC GR-DX77. It works fine except when I try to play DV tapes previously recorded with a Digital Video Camera JVC GR-DVF1OU (serial number 15320985).
When I play those tapes, an image appears on the screen for a couple of seconds showing loads of pixels, and then vanishes and the screen goes blu again, and the tape seems to play without problem.
The only clue I've got is when I play the old tapes "32 bits" appears on the screen, but when I play a tape I've recorded with the actual camera GR-DX77, I read "16 bits".
Thanks for your help.

You are reording in the 16 bit mode which is not the usual way unless audio dubbing is needed when recocordings must be in the 16 bit mode, the dvf1ou tapes are obviously 32 bit recordings but they should still play autamaticly ,i am not sure why you get the affect at the start of playback,my guess is your new cam has for some strange reason to adjust to the old 32 bit recordings.

The new camera JCV GR-DX77 automatically records in the 16 bit mode.
I've searched for a way on the Camera menus to switch from one mode to another but I couldn't find any options.
