These two models share many internals

VPC-HD2000 is in pistol-grip format
VPC-FH1 is in standard horizontal cam format

Interesting features include 24Mbps 1080p60 recording - will euro versions have a 1080p50 mode? (last models didnt i think :-( )

Here are all the video modes (For these models 60fps is actually 59.94fps, 30fps is actually 29.97fps, 240fps is actually 239.76fps, and 600fps is actually 599.4fps)
Full-HR: 1920 x 1080 (60 fps/ 24Mbps) Full HD: 1920 x 1080 (60fields/sec 16Mbps)
Full-SHQ: 1920 x 1080 (30 fps/ 12Mbps) HD-SHQ: 1280 x 720 (30 fps/9Mbps)
TV-SHQ: 640 x 480 (30 fps/3Mbps)
Web-SHR: 448 x 336 (240 fps/8Mbps) Web-UHR: 192 x 108 (600fps/8Mbps)

Also allows shooting digital photos at 12 fps during or separate to video recording at approx 8 Megapixel resolution

Like the HD1000/1010 they are probably only 30p/60p/30i which is NTSC not PAL

Yes, I have only seen 30/60 modes mentioned so far. I know several .eu people with HD1000 and HD1010 (previous models) and they seemed to play ok on .eu hdtvs

Can I expect good quality or jumpy playback on a UK 50 or 100Hz tv?

Or are your reservations more about the difficulties of editing given freq differences?

they will debut at around £350+

Play back on a tv isn't a problem I don't think, at least on my Toshiba LCD tv it plays fine and I don't think LCDs are affect by framerate. Don't PS3s play at 60fps? I think it is only a problem playing once it's been put on DVD discs etc as that is a standard that plays at 25fps.

I have just bought the Sanyo VPC HD2000 (for my wife) and I have tried viewing on TV connecting to the Sanyo with no problems. Under the TV Output option, you can select TV system as NTSC or PAL and the TV Type as 4:3 or 16:9 format for the best of both worlds. I've connected to an old CRT TV (4:3 PAL) and a Sharp LCD HD(ready) TV without any problems, one at a time. All the connecting cables, the S-AV and the component are supplied except for the HDMI cable. I've not tried burning DVD's yet but I'll be sharing my experience in my Blog, My Video Journey with Sanyo Xacti, the VPC HD2000 to be exact progressively as I move along.
First impression: video is very good but EIS is very poor when zooming. Also need very resourceful PC for viewing and editing. Hope this helps.
