Where do you upload your HD Video?

Where (if anywhere) do you upload your videos once you're done editing them and where do you think is the best site? I've been trying YouTube, Vimeo and Viddyou. I think they all have their plus and minus points.

I like Vimeo because it seems to have more of a camcorder enthusiast feel to it. I've found quite a few useful hints and tips over there. But, a few members have been complaining that their videos never seem to get any views and i've experienced that too. Plus it does seem quite cliquey. You can only embed HD videos if you subscribe ($59.95 a year) and even then you are limited to 5000 embed views (goes quicker than you think) after which you have to shell out again on top of your subscription to pay for more HD embed views.

5gb uploads per week
Max file size 1GB
Dowload link
Customizable player
Can link up with pics from your flickr account but the layout isn't great, thumbs way too big.

Everyone knows YouTube, i think it's ok for watching funny clips but i dread leaving videos up their in fear of some of the comments you get "zomg u fkn noooob! lolz" (christ). It's a dump but i was really surprised at the quality of videos now that they have gone HD! However you can only embed a video in HD if you apply a hack to the embed code ( How to Embed and Play 720p HD YouTube Videos )

So that leaves me with Viddyou. I think it was originally intended as a place for vloggers but since they have gone high def it's become appealing to everyone. It's $35 (ish) a year and pretty impressive specs:

Native resolutions up to 1920 x 1080
Max upload length - unlimited
Max file size 1GB
Download link
Can link up with pics from your flickr account

Here's a screencap i did of the same clip from the three different sites: http://i39.tinypic.com/6psvww.jpg

I've ended up subscribing to ViddYou (i'm using it as backup storage as well as for embedding to sites) and i'm uploading to YouTube as well for the time being to see how it goes. Vimeo is too pricey i think considering the competition.

Re: Where do you upload your HD Video?

I use Vimeo, but I don't embed videos on my own webpages, so haven't paid them a red cent.

My videos are for family and friends, hence the lack of traffic isn't an issue.

Andrew.

I don't upload mine anywhere, I put them on Blu-ray for most people and DVD for those still stuck in the past (the majority of family have BD though)

Re: Where do you upload your HD Video?

I really don't want to have to do the 'spinning disc' thing all over again with Blu-ray, so I just upload to Vimeo, in an HD format that is easy to play on most computers (like HDV), and friends and family can either play, or download in HD, as they wish.
