It's in stock at http://provisualdirect.co.uk/acatalo...Camcorder.html for £980 delivered. Amazon are £971 - but showing 1-2 months delivery, which I think means they have no stock!

Re: launch date for Sony HDR-XR520VE ?

Seems to be a newly registered domain name. Their website has striking similarities to Bentonville Mall I wonder if they are run by the same people I was tempted by Bentonville's relative low prices and would have considered buying my Sony PMW-EX1 from them if it had been possible to collect in person, I tried phoning but couldn't get through to a real person ...just an answering machine telling me to email. Bentonville's feedback on Amazon wasn't too good either so I bought mine from Preston's in Malvern, it was £700 more but I had the reassurance of speaking to a real person, had the chance to check that the box was unopened from new and the satisfaction of being able to collect & use my camcorder the same day.

I've got mine from the same place.. I've ordered it about a week ago when I realized that it's cheaper than anywhere else hoping that Amazon is going to get it at some point and today I got an email saying that it's dispatched.

Funny enough I was going to cancel this order today and get Canon HF S10 instead when I've noticed that I can't cancel this anymore as it was already dispatched.

Should be here tomorrow.. cool. I've got a mixed feelings about whether I should get Canon or Sony. Sony is 200£ less and I quite like the active stabilization and night performance although in daylight Canon has superior quality. More info/samples from both here

Re: launch date for Sony HDR-XR520VE ?

Got mine from Amazon too for £971. Checked the price a couple of days later and it's gone up to £1115.

Awesome camera and the pic & sound quality is superb.
Tiny compared to my Sony TRV900E but certainly packs a mean punch.
