samsung camcorder

i have a new samsung memory card camcorder. i have it set to tv superfine for the best quality images, but video playback is looking pretty low on quality, and worst, there are appaling jagged edges around moving objects.

is this a fault?, is there anything i can do about it?

thanks for reading this!

Re: samsung camcorder

Which one?
Does it record /play fine on other modes?
Does it lookgood on the camcorder itself?
What card are you using
With which software are you playing back?

Did you research it before buying.. I did a little write up on the MX20 in the sticky threads (above) with linked samples to you tube ( have a little read)

Damn. I promised to send some to someone here a sample .. plain forgot!!
Why not upload than to you tube ( in as best quality as you can) and link than for us to see

These are probably interlacing artefacts. If I'm right (hard to say without seeing an example: does yours look anything like the image on the right attached to this post: Advice on Video Editinig issue please! ?) they should only be noticeable when viewing on your computer, as televisions are designed to handle interlaced video, effectively rendering such "jaggies" invisible.

Andrew.

Re: samsung camcorder

Media players like VLC also have deinterlacing options ( which is why I asked what he was usingto play)
Saying that the h.264 output from th MX20 whilst great for web online use and carefully partnere PC use is probably less impressive for making SD DVDs unless shooting conditions are ideal
Its market (to me) should not be anyone hoping to make SD DVDs are playing back on a 42" display

It is also possible to view a small sample ( maybe email) of the Ops footage
