Cheap High Def or Expensive SD camcorder

I'm a complete newbie to this, but after much trawling on the net I had settled on a standard Def Sony DCR-SR55E for £270.

It now seems like I can get my hands on a High Def Panasonic HDC-SD9 for only £30 more.

I'm assuming this is a no brainer and that the Panasonic is the one to go for?

I'm only after something to capture shots my little ankle bitters, and dont have the time or energy to become an "enthisast"

Thanks in advance.

Gavin

Go HD, for £30 more it's a "no brainer" even if you can't watch it now, you will in the future, the Panasonic is a decent cam.

I think it's Costco who have them at this price? - only if you have one local to you and are a member which i am neither.
