TG3 Help

Hi all

New to all this video malarkey and bought a TG3 camcorder for xmas,

I have a couple of questions re this,

Memory - What's the best / cheapest to use.I have found a SanDisk M2 micro ( I have an adaptor for it to plug into) 8gb on Amazon for £20, is this the best way to go or are there other solutions, ive also found a lexar 8gb pro duo for £18 on Amazon..any good?

Video editing software - At the moment im running vista, but may be moving to a mac. What's the best video editing software. Nothing fancy, just need it to be idiot proof.

Output - If I record in HD, once edited can I burn the video to a regular DVD? If so, can I burn it in HD format, and / or SD format (my mates don't have HD players yet).

i think thats it for now, thanks in advance

Greg

I'd go for the 8gb Pro Duo. This way as well you can then dump the entire contents of the card to a DVD+DL for backup purposes.

Sony Vegas on Vista I think and you can get a trial if you want. On the Mac just use iMovie which comes with it, works great with my TG3.

You can burn to SD format on the DVD and it'll still be better quality than if you filmed in SD originally. If they have a PS3 you can plug your TG3 direct into the PS3 either by memory card on the 60gb models or buy USB with the docking cradle on the other models (I do this) and it'll work great including the full 5.1 sound.

Re: TG3 Help

Hi there,

You can record HD footage to a standard DVD and play it back via a PS3......

I purchased a Sony 16GB memory stick for £57.99 from Play.com, that gives me 1 hour 56 minutes of the highest quality FH setting. That along with the 28 minutes FH footage with the supplied 4gb card gives me more than enough!! just need 2 or 3 batteries to cover that now! :-)

Oh regarding editing, I use a PC and use Adobe Elements 7...now with AVCHD capability. I love that program.

Enjoy your new purchase.

Regards,

Jon.
