Pansonic hdc-sd9e or canon hf100 ?

Looking for a HD camcorder for shooting action videos that will invole alot of movement and holidays, what would be best for the job the pansonic or the canon ?

Will the ccd sensors handle movement better than the cmos, i heard about rolling shutter problems on cmos sensors or is this just cheaper cameras ??

Thanks in advance

AVCHD (the video format used by both the camcorders you mention) doesn't handle movement especially well. What kind of movement are we talking about? The rolling shutter "issue" isn't one unless you're going to be mounting the camera on a dashboad. The HF100 is the better camcorder (slightly better picture quality, greater range of shooting options, better expandabililty with the accessory shoe and mic input) so is worth the difference in price if you can afford it, but the SD9 is also very good.

Hi - I am also considering the Panasonic as they have them on offer at Costco at less than £300. The only thing putting me off is that i believe there is no software available for editing? In the past I have used premiere pro but dont think this can handle the raw files from the camera.

New versions of premier pro (i think cs4) and premier elements 7 aswell as sony vegas pro 8 and a handful of others can handle raw avchd files.
