Sony HDR-TG3E LCD screen trouble

I have recently got a Sony HDR-TG3E video camera. Just now though when I switched it on the LCD screen is very dim. I have went into settings and set the brightness to the highest setting but this didn't help.

Basically I can see the screen but only just. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ps. i have recently been to specsavers to check to see if it was a problem with my eyesight... apparently it wasn't!

Re: Sony HDR-TG3E LCD screen trouble

I had a similar problem with my previous camera, the HC3. It turned out that I had somehow activated the "Night Shot" button. Once turned off all was well again. Might be worth checking.

Re: Sony HDR-TG3E LCD screen trouble

Hi, there is no night shot on the TG3, so its not that.

If you say you have adjusted the screen to maximum brightness, then there is something wrong.

Mine is set to default which is more than bright enough.

This may be a silly question but were you viewing with strong outdoor or sunlight on the screen??

The screen is quite dim or poor when viewed in bright daylight.

If not and the this is indoors.....there is possibly a fault. but without seeing it its hard to say.

Sorry could not have been of more help.

Jon.
