Is the MinoHD any good?

I need a camcorder for travelling for a year. I'll be compiling video reports which will need to be edited to 2 mins and emailed at least monthly. Anyone know if this is good - or know of anything similar? Is the software easy to use? And any recommendations for a very small laptop that would be ideal to use with it? Don't really want to spend more than £300-400 on laptop. Thanks!

Re: Is the MinoHD any good?

It's not awesome, but not much is at around the same price. Do a search under "Flip Mino" on vimeo.com for videos that have been made using one. I've not heard of any of the regulars here using one, so it's unlilkely you'll be blessed with a hands-on user's review.

Personally I think you'd be better off with one of these or one of these.

As for your laptop question, I can't help you there - hopefully someone else might step in, or you could try posting on one of the computing forums.

Andrew.
