Problem playing captured Avi file.

I have done this a million times before but this time I am having a problem.

I have captured 5 DV tapes in AVI files on my pc and went to edit them using Windows Movie Maker and the files wont play, it just shows the first frame but not moving.

My PC has the codec’s and plug-in etc but cannot play any of the captured AVI files in either Movie maker or WMP11.

As it happens i got Ulead movie make 3, it works from there but not from the windows players

Any ideas why?

Re: Problem playing captured Avi file.

Try VLC or GOM players for Playback and see
Window Media player classic is another

Another thing to do would be to try another Software Editor ( Trial of Sony Vegas Movie Studio for instance).
Imnot sure why you have this Issue but thwer are alternatives
For capture there is also WIN DV
