Sony DCR-HC45 switches off,please help.

Hello and Happy New Year.

Could someone with any knowledge help me out please.

I have the Sony DCR-HC45 minidv and this is the one with a docking station. When I switch it on it comes to life for 1/4 of a second (display shows handycam/green light lights up on back above the record button and it beeps once), then immediately shuts down. I have bought a new sony battery, charger and external charger to no avail. This camera worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.
I can't even eject the tape.I paid and downloaded the Service Manual but I dont want to take it apart until I hopefully got some suggestions.

Your comments and advice are much welcome.

Thankyou Chris.
