Blow outs on HF100

I recently went on holiday and took the HF100 with him. One strange problem I discovered was that if I was filming, paused and pointed the cam down and then when I brought it up again to point at the target the screen/picture was blown out (due to the excessive brightness!). It would take about 1/2 seconds to resolve itself.

I have never seen this behaviour on any other cams I have had in the past.

Re: Blow outs on HF100

Does it perhaps have a function which stops the recording when its pointed to the floor, to avoid unintentional camera movement?

I read about this function today, dont know if it was in the manual for my newly purchased SD9 or elsewhere on the net. Ive done that much reading up on camcorders lately that my brain is beginning to fail......

Re: Blow outs on HF100

That's surely normal behaviour.
I have seen it multiple times on various cameras.

Although 1/2 sec is very quick thought for recovery, as in some "crap" cameras, I have seen them take about 5 sec for recovery!

Can't say why it happens though, just what I know man.
