Sony DCR SR33 as a webcam

Sony DCR SR33 as a webcam
Hello there,
I have a Sony DCR SR33 and I'm having trouble using it as a webcam. I plug it in via usb and select the interface, but it just keeps saying 'connecting'. IS there something I need to install in order to allow it to work?

Could one of you talk me through it?

I would very grateful.

A stupid question, perhaps: Does the SR33 definitely have a webcam function, according to the manual?

I can't locate the manual, but I've read elsewhere on the net about people using it as a webcam.
