Hi Guys.
I have an old mini DV camcorder ( Sony DCR-PC120E ) which to be honest has been a great little recorder. But over the last year all our PCs have been changed over to MacBooks. Now I have decided to put years of tapes to discs.
My first problem was the leads I needed a 4 pin to 800 firewire, managed to source one off Ebay and its coming today.
Finally my question !!!!
Will it work at all, will it plug and play or will I need to download any software to make the transfer work

Assuming that your camcorder records standard DV video (looks like it does) and you have iMovie on your MacBook and your MacBook is not one of the very latest breed which doesn't have a FireWire input, and you find a cable that works, then yes: plug and play all the way.

It is a new pro but the firewire is 800.
