Can you capture video using a RCA connected to a Sony HDR SR12

Can you capture video using a RCA connected to a Sony HDR SR12
Hi,
I just wanted to know if I could use the supplied RCA cable to capture video from a VCR say onto my camcorder.
If not how would you recommend transferring VHS to DVD, I have a Hauppauge hvr 4000 but can never get a good quality picture using the supplied software.

No the AV is output not input
