Broken camera advice required
Not sure if it will be repaired (5 year old Sony TRV33)
What is available with proper 16x9 support, prefer a DV format (HDV would be nice) and also need video in (for converting old tapes)
I have no idea where to start.
Any ideas please.

Re: Broken camera advice required
What is wrong with your TRV33 Martin? If it is the known CCD fault then you should be able to get a free repair from Sony.
Mark.

Re: Broken camera advice required
Sorry for the slow answer
It was a mechanical problem - used to be fixed by a slap.
Now it was knocked off a breakfast bar/worktop onto a wood floor, cannot load tapes even now.
Insurance will probably write it off, but the current SDTV MiniDVs are all inferior to it now.
Will state will be happy with HDR-HC9E, a repair or money.
CCD is fine though!
Tahnks

Re: Broken camera advice required
I was preparing it last night - removing MS and charging - the mech worked but grey bars on the screen - will call a service centre or check if repair people can just service it
