Returning to Amazon?

I've just bought a Sony SR12 from Amazon & I'm not overly happy with it, (particularly in low light conditions). Obviously I've removed the seal to get into the box, which looks like it's in breach of Amazon's returns policy, but I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience sending back stuff to Amazon after looking in the box & having a tryout?

Re: Returning to Amazon?

Just return it as a faulty item. In the box where it asks you to explain the fault, write that the box was open on receipt.

Re: Returning to Amazon?

If you've had it less than 7 days (I think it's 7) you can return any item (even if fully working) thanks to the distance selling regulations, so long as you return in original packaging, undamaged etc. etc.

been thinking about getting a sony TG3 and they're the cheapest i've seen lately.. but not sure about returns (in case i get disappointed with anything other than the low light capability altho i am not expecting much based on reviews)

Re: Returning to Amazon?

I returned an HF100 last week (within 7 days - but opened) and they've just credited my credit card - very easy, no fuss.
