how to capture digital 8 tape onto pc on auto scene per date clips

What I trying to do - Is to copy the tape onto HDD but I can't figure out how to make auto clips divider that create new clips every date change on the tape?

I'm using trial Vegas Movies studio platinum 9.0 and it create every new clips when there is new scene detection.

I believe I can do it on pinnacle studio 9 plus but I trying new software as I'm not sure pinnacle studio 9 will work under vista.

So can Sony Vegas do it?

Vegas can certainly capture as clips using scene detection.
As for dates, Im not as sure unless the change in time code "creates" another scene" or one creates clips manually ( also possible)
Otherwise get a Vista friendly vesion of Pinnacle Studio as you are used to it
