Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 DVD Rendering Problem

Hi,

I'm extremely new to video editing and was hoping for some help. I tried to render a dvd using Vegas Studio 9 and DVD Architect. When I went to play the rendered media (both the dvd VOB and mpg file directly), the video shows a double image and a lot of flicker. It's almost similar to when the refresh rate on a video card isn't set correctly for the target monitor (just for comparison). Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Also, I figured that Movie Studio is smart enough to downgrade an HD file for DVD playback, so didn't think this detail mattered... could be wrong... but the source media is a 1080p HD m2ts file.
