I need a quality wide angle lens for my old but still good Panasonic GS400 camcorder.

I've bought a £50 lens off eBay that screws via an adaptor to the front of the existing lens and whilst it does the job - more or less - there is an obvious drop in quality and the colour balance alters so that everything has a greenish tinge; I have been able to improve but not eliminate the green by manually balancing colour but it's hit and miss.

Can anyone recommend a wide angle lens/adaptor? My budget is £250.
