I have a Sony DCR-DVD301 model (mini-DVD) camcorder. It has been working since four years, however, recently the disk tray was jammed.

When I press the button to open the tray, it tries for a minute and gives up.

On the LCD, it tells me that it is opening the tray but no error or output after a minute.

I have tried dis-assemble the unit, but due to lack of guidance (and confidence), I re-assembled the stuff as they were . When I contacted Sony, they are ready to repair but for a cost of £200 - which I think is not worth!

I would appreciate any input in this regard - I woudln't mind disassembling if you let me know what and where to look for.

Anyone can atleast point to me how to dis-assemble and possibly repair a camcorder, please?
