Sony SR10e Or?

So it was my birthday today and I've gotten together some money and feel like buying a camcorder. I've been looking at the Sony SR10E but I've not done much delving. I can get it for £395 after rebate. Is this a good deal or is there anything else better for a comparable price?

Many thanks as always!

Yeah I have a new iMac so it should fare fine editing wise. Think I'll end up going for it. That is unless anyone else has a suggestion. I hate jumping into things and having that nagging what if feeling.

Re: Sony SR10e Or?

Perhaps consider the Canon HF100 for £30to £40 more with a 16GB SD Card. You loose night vision and the hard disk capacity, but you gain better picture quality, particularly in low light conditions.

The Canon will also shoot is 25FPS Progressive mode which further improves low-light quality. In fact, this makes it quite a lot better than my Sony SR12 which is a step above the SR10.

I use both the SR12 and HF100 regularly and I find little to choose between them. For SR10 vs HF100, the Canon would be an easy choice for me.
