I've used this forum in the past for the wealth of info that it holds but this my first post.
I'm doing a small project for a PI company that wants to increase the amount of time it takes to get video from cameras out in the field to the central location. How they want to do this is by means of an FTP site. Don't worry about the logistics, what I need is the best choice of camcorder to deploy to the PIs. Oh, I'm from the States.
What is most important:
- A hard drive\flash camcorder
- An easilly convertable format (I want to be able to attach the camera by USB to a computer and copy the files)
- The video file needs to have a timestamp included, either hard coded onto the video or can be included after the fact.
- The longest zoom possible
What is not terribly important:
- Video quality, it should be usable of course but it does not need to be 720p or 1080p
- Camera size.
- Company, I'm open to any suggestion
I hope someone out there can stear me in the right direction of a company or series of camera that would be helpful in this project. Thank you in advance.
