SR12E for £597 - Right choice?

I have been debating the purchase of an HD camcorder for some time and today ordered an SR12E from Amazon for £657. Sony UK are currently offering £60 cashback so final price will be £597.

I really just need some reassurance that I have made the right decision. £600 is a lot of money (for me) and I would like to be sure my investment will last for a few years. Is it £600 well spent?

I originally intended to buy the HG10 or HF100 but after holding the Sony there was no comparison. The build and that LCD monitor are just soooo much better.

That's a good price just buy it!

I have one and am very pleased. TV broadcast like quality.

I even took some shots with it of fireworks and some street scenes at night and was very impressed.
