Sony HDR-SR12E - can't view on TV via HDMI cable

Hi all

I posted the same question on another forum but didn't really get any answers other than "phone sony" so i'm hoping soeone on here can help.

I got this camcorder last week and have bought a HDMI female to mini-HDMI male connector to use an existing HDMI lead to allow me to connect to my Panasonic 42" plasma to view the videos.

I've connected the camcorder and set it up appropriately via the menu's on the camcorder but I don't get any sound/image on the tv...it displays on the camcorder LCD screen but nothing else.

I'm wondering if the dongle is faulty but thought I'd see if anyone else has had a similar problem and if so, how they fixed it.

cheers

Wayne

As long as the cam plays via its component output any problem must be the hdmi cable or output inputs

Re: Sony HDR-SR12E - can't view on TV via HDMI cable

I just plugged my mini HDMI to HDMI lead directly between the camera and my TV and it worked without any recourse to any settings in the camera. What you see on the LCD is what you get on the HDMI output.

What did you change in the camera settings?
