Windows Movie Maker - Adding audio?

Am a totally newbie to Windows Movie Maker and want to add a soundtrack to a project i am currently working on.

However when I try to import music that is in my itunes library it won't let me because it says i do not have the codec required to play that file.

Anyone any advice?

Re: Windows Movie Maker - Adding audio?

WMM does not support itunes.(AAC 128 KB)
You would need to have the audio in another format or use another software editor which does support itunes
I believe I tunes is able to convert to other formats which may be supported by WMM but not if they are protected
Also look at the FAQ here to links on proficient use of WMM; It has some thriving user forums

That would be another way
Burn a CD from the itunes (AAC ) files :using the itunes software
This automatically converts them to wav
These can then be ripped off the Audio CD for use by WMM

Re: Windows Movie Maker - Adding audio?

Not sure Senu to get it on cd as a wav Itunes would have to create a data disc .Not sure it can do that i fit cant then it'llbe a CDa file which wmm wont /cant open .Thus the need to rip fromthe cd to get into wav

Re: Windows Movie Maker - Adding audio?

Thanks for that
Im with you .
I meant as an Audio CD ( whose native file format ( cda) is PCM) , not a data CD with wave files on it
Ripping this to PC as Wav
I was just trying to elaborate on your suggestion

Re: Windows Movie Maker - Adding audio?

That is a bit of limitation of WMM . Most Editing software can rip off a CD
FWIW. itunes itself can actually rip an Audio CD to mp3 and wav

They just about got it right ( with a big fight) with bluray itself
The "BD" audio equivalent has I tunes, and MP3 as well as conventional CD audio to fight off
If Sonys hx is anything to go by, after the rootkit fiasco , they will try to DRM the audio.. and It will not sell unless they begin to have a different mindset

Re: Windows Movie Maker - Adding audio?

Well As dvd audio and Supercd which are both superb never got anywhere their only hope is if maybe a cd can hold more tracks than the worst mp3 compression then the Quantity Fans will be happy
