Re: shooting date/time of DVD cam when transfered to PC

Mpeg2 video files ( as created by DVD camcorders) do not have an embedded date time stamp, as such
Even HDD/SD card camcorders create this indexing in proprietary ways which means they are for use on the camcorder but they are lost on transfer to a PC

This kind of metadata is only associated with DV AVI ( or HDV) from tape
Even then it is usually not displayed during capture to PC as well but can be accessed and displayed by some software ( see the FAQ)

As such There is no software " update " you will have to append the files manually unless PMB ( which ships with Sony camcorders) preserves some indexing, but this is unikely to be the case with DVD camcorders files
Hope this helps

Re: shooting date/time of DVD cam when transfered to PC

Unless you use a Tape camcorder with DV AVI..
With the DVD camcorder,
If you want to have video which has shooting date time on the video, you will need to connect your DVD camcorder to a Settop DVD recorder, using composite analogue conneection and leaving the display on.. If you can see the time/datre whilst recording it will be recorded
But not as metadata
