I have Sony HDR-CX7 which recently went back to Sony for repair.
Whilst away I changed my pc and now cannot get the Picture Motion Browser software to load as it says it cannot find the camcorder.
When I plug the USB into the pc it finds new hardware ok but will not allow the installation of the software as it cannot find the camera.
Without this I cannot edit or create a disk to play on my DVD.

Can someone help me?

I have the same camera, but I don't use the bundled software to edit my footage.

However, connecting up any USB equipment before installing the necessary drivers can cause random problems like this. I've used system restore in windows to fix this which may be worth a try. Go back to before you connected up the USB, and make sure you install/connect everything as directed in the manual.
