Canon md235 - Best price or Best Deals?

Hi guys

I`ve made up my mind, no changing it now! - I`m going for the canon md235 model only but I want to get the best deal, I`ve spent so long reading the forums to make the decision that I may as well penny pinch and take a few more days longer.

As far as I can see, it pretty much floats around at avg. £170, thats fine but really I`m interested in reliability of the website and more importantly what deals I can get.

I`m happy spending a little more if I can get a decent deal with a case, battery perhaps more media? Just wondering if any of you have seen anything decent while trawling the net? - I`ve seen a few deals but actually they pretty much just resemble the stand alone costs for the extra stuff!

Look forward to your replys...hurry, I`m dieing to bye!!

Chris

Thats the price I have seen it for as well. I have not found anything cheaper

Jessops may price match to that meaning you could save a little more.

let me know if you see it cheaper as I am looking to buy one as well.

Re: Canon md235 - Best price or Best Deals?

and i know for a fact currys won't price match it as i asked in store yesterday. apparantly they're not connected anymore and no longer part of the DSG.

With regards to this Canon, could anyone post a link to the type of thing i'd need to buy in order to allow my laptop to accept a firewire connection?

Many Thanks

Re: Canon md235 - Best price or Best Deals?

Ok well I`ve been looking and I want to order the Canon md235 tonight so these are the best deals I`ve seen, please let me know which you think is best or if you know any more options: I`m also a bit sceptical about online ordering so reliability is a big factor!

This is the best imo:
1. Canon MD235 Mini DV Camcorder this has a lo-pro case in the deal and 5 tapes £195

or

2. Canon Canon MD235 Camcorder UK Digital Cameras this one has an offical canon case? £206

or

3.Buy MD235 MINI DV review MD235 MINI DV discount cheapest UK shop
the case doesn`t seem as good with this one.

Please let me know which deal you thinks best or if anywhere is worth a try??

Chris

BTW, paulcollins - you`d need a FireWire CardBus Card, I would also appreciate advice on a specific model of card!

I`d had enough with all that dithering! Time to order, throw away the manual and get stuck in lol

Re: Canon md235 - Best price or Best Deals?

I'd go for either of options 1 and 2. I've dealt with both companies and they're fine. My only caveat about UK Digital Cameras is that they do sell imports from time to time.

Andrew.

Re: Canon md235 - Best price or Best Deals?

Ok well I`ve just purchased the camera so hope to recieve it by early next week. Going back to PaulCollins10 question: what is required to capture the footage on my laptop. I am running an Aspire5670, with a small 4 pin firewire port already installed. Do I need a IEEE1394 4-4 pin or 4-6? I know its a 4 pin on my computer, but whats on the camera?

Regards

Chris

Re: Canon md235 - Best price or Best Deals?

Hello

I don't know if it's too late and you've gone out and bought yourself the camcoder already, but I've just bought mine for £166, with a 'bundle' of 5 new DV tapes plus a nice padded bag for a total of £175. All from Warehouse Express online. It was delivered next day via trackable courier. Best deal I could find. Reliable and friendly service.

Hope that helps!
