Mini Dv to VHS

I've just bought a Camcorder and everything is going fine. I recorded some footage, downloaded onto my pc, edited using Windows Movie Maker 2 and transfered back to my camcorder. Everything went fine. Now I want to transfer to VHS tape so I can show a few friends my videos.

I have not got a clue what to do. I have a scart connection but do I connect to my video or TV. And then what do I do ?

I did get a picture (from my camcorder) on my TV but couldn't find a way of recording it. The video came on the AV channel of my TV and when I tried recording the AV channel using my video, it recorded something else.

Anybody got any idea's ?

Thanks !

You need to connect to your VCR.
Plug you cam into the scart socket on the VCR and set the input channel to AV (ie the scart socket) not one of the TV channels. Press record on VCR and play on cam.

Thanks but this doesn't work. All it records is a blue screen. Does having SKY connected to the AV channel cause any problems ?

Most VCR's have 2 AV channels. Try setting the input to the other AV channel and see if that works. A blue screen normally means no signal is being received. Can you see the video from cam on the TV while trying to record with the TV set to VCR input?

Thanks Mark for your replies.

I've sorted it and got it working. No idea how I got it working. I unplugged a cable out of the VCR and suddenly it started working. It was a bit of trial and error really.

Many thanks !

ThePuttKing, what camcorder have you got? I am looking to buy a camcorder to do exactly what you described. Can you let me know the make and model and if it's any good?

Thanks
