JVC VS Sony

I am currently trying to decide between two digital camcorders, the first of which is the Sony TRV-145 and the second is the JVC GD-20EK. I know that the models previous to the Sony TRV-145 have been good perfomers but because they use Digital 8 tapes they are quite bulky. Although the JVC GD-20EK is smaller and lighter, I don't know how well it performs and whether the features are good.

Any opinions on either or both cameras would be very welcome.
