EASY CAP USB video capture device - any good?

I've been given the task of transferring 3 VHS videos to DVD.

They are home videos which were in turn produced from some old family cine footage about 8 years ago.

This will be a one off task and I basically just want to get each video captured onto my HD to edit at my leisure when time permits, but need to capture them before everyone on the family gets rid of their video players!

Obviously I don't want to splash out on some expensive video capture cards etcfor a one off job, but Ebay seems to be teeming with an inexpensive device called "EASY CAP". I'll be running it on Vista Home Premium 32bit.

Has anyone had any experience of this device whether good or bad before I decide to get one or not?

Regards

Tony
