Digital video to PC ?

Hi All,

My father has a panasonic digital video camera. The recording format is to a digital tape. Is there any easy way that he can transfer this video to PC ?

Apologies if this is an idiotic question.

If it is a MiniDV "digital tape" .He only needs a firewire cable on PC which has a firewire port
If not they can be added easily
Note that 1Hr of MiniDV =13Gb HDD
Windows movie maker ( or any capablediting program ) or indeed WIN DV will assist the capture ( which is real time)
What he then does with the captured footage is down to him
