Bullet Cam / Recorder

Hi All,

Right, im after a decent (cheap) bullet cam, so i can hook it up to my car for trackdays/drives myself and friends go on.

Also, i currently have a sony handycam DCR-TRV33, which ive seen you can hook a bullet cam up to, and record off that... but ill need a wire which will allow me to charge it up in the car, and i cannot find anything (appart from sony themselfs, and they want like 60 quid for a wire :O)

Would i be better getting some sort of recorder which will record direct onto an SD card?

I would like as good quality as possible (i know there is no HD bullet cams/recorders) but something with a decent resolution will be great.

Cheers

James

Re: Bullet Cam / Recorder

Hi

Just sold a 520TVL bullet camera recently from action cameras uk, very good quality and can be plugged into anything with a AV in.
I have now bought a VIO POV1 SD based recording system which is the best bullet camera device at the moment but it costs £500.
I use this for mountain biking and the footage is DVD quality.
Friend bought a Orgeon AT3K device but the footage is only just watchable, they have a new one now.
Cheapest option is probably to buy a 520TVL bullet camera and hook it up to your camcorder as size and weight won't be an issue in your car.

Re: Bullet Cam / Recorder

You can get HD bullet cameras but they are very expensive.

I have used a bullet camera on trackdays several times. I bought the bullet camera from Maplins a couple of years ago, it seems to be pretty good quality. The bullet cam is powered from the cigarette lighter. I run a Sony HC42E to record it (running of it's battery).
