Sony Handycam loading problem

Hello, I have a Sony DCR-HC19E Handycam and the cassettes will no longer load.I got the camera back out of its case today and went to put a cassette in and the mechanism goes down but then will get stuck as it tries to load the tape to the head and I have to eject(sadly one of my tapes with my youngest on got crumpled).Anyways does anybody have any idea what can be causing this? or know of any reputable place I can send it to for repair.
I looked on Sony's repair site and they charge a flat fee of £175.Nearly as much as the camera is worth.
Many thanks in advance
