Sony Vegas Help

I installed Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 (Full Program bought) Captured video but it won't burn to DVD as it says i need some program to do this (DVD Achitect Studio) ?

I was able to burn it through Nero but no sound was heard, just the video?

Any advice would be great.

Re: Sony Vegas Help

Just save the end result to file and use another program to burn onto disk .I use Sonic to do this , excellent program and came with my early versions of Serif Movie plus .I bought and use the Movie Studio Plat... but always render to file and author with sonic .

Re: Sony Vegas Help

Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum should come with a standalone program called DVD Architect Studio
It is in its own right a DVD authoring program but it works seamlessly with Vegas by the fact that when you output video as a multiplexed audio video file or " DVD Architect" templates ( separately) it works to ensure that DVD Architect does not re encode DVD ready files
You don't need Nero in this instance unless you especially want to use it
As such Vegas does not integrate DVD authoring into its main editing program
Im surprised rickyt found it necessary to use Sonic unless he simply prefers it
I similarly use Ulead Movie Factory to author DVDs from video edited in various other programs ( including Vegas) but that is only out of preference, not necessity as DVD Architect ( studio) is part of the Platinum Package ( and the full Vegas Pro)

Yes ,I do prefer it as I've used it for years .I often just render my video files using different programs , Vegas ,Pinnacle ,Serif ,etc and author using Sonic .......................Why ? I'll never know :-)

Not a problem, I also state that I use Ulead Movie Factory to author DVDs ( as well as Ulead Movie Workshop ( although they stopped developing in it on ver2)
And this is from mpegs from Avid Liquid, Vegas, Pro Show Gold, Pinnacle Studio, Premiere Elements ect
Doing this allows edits made at separate time from different sources to all be combined in one DVD as different "chapters"
It also give the sort of flexibility that built in DVD arthoring doesnt seem to have
My point is that if you had Vegas MS you would also know of the existence of DVD Architect Studio ( which can be used jus as you use Sonic or I use Movie factory ) and point the OP to it rather than any other program in the first instance
He didnt find Nero Vision helpful with audio did he?

My copy of ( an earlier version) does not automatically install with the main program
If you have a CD try exploring it to see if it is in another folder

In Nero
Not on the off chance.

Firstly, does the mpeg2 you input to Nero have audio?
Secondly are you outputting an audio format that Nero doesnt support or more likely, does Nero support the audio format your file outputted from Vegas has?
The answer is somewhere there
Nonetheless a Full Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum package should have DVDA studio

Just play it back in any media player
VLC ( very handy) or even WMP

You need to know from Vegas ( when outputting) which audio format is being used ... Since you specify that vegas creates the outputted file you can check before the file is rendered out

Also when creating the DVD in Nero.. what is the default audio format?
I suspect that the problem lies in the input not output settings but could easily be either TBH

Better No ,
How do you mean better?. Im not sure you have explored how good ( or not ) Vegas is. If you have purchased a full Version and cannot acees DVD A studio 4.5 you need to find out why TBH

Ulead is Different , not "better"
It would depend on which Ulead Program you refer to though
There is Video Studio ( Video Editing with intergrated DVD Arthoring)
and there is Movie Factory and Movie Factory Plus 9 (DVD arthoring with some Editing)

Did you download Vegas, or buy a boxed version? DVD Architect came on a separate CD in the box for me.

Re: Sony Vegas Help

I too bought the Vegas Movie Studio Plat... Edi.... from *mazon for £24.97 and have it on one of my editing PC's but really have'nt bothered about the Architect Studio ........meaning I cannot remember installing it or seeing on the PC for that matter . I have checked the box and I can only find 1 disk but there is product code's for both Vegas & Architect Studio .There was also a serial number for the NewBlueFX add-ons .I can remember putting all the codes in and Vegas and the plugins work but not sure about the Architect . Will check when I get a minute .

I'm curious about this now , did I or did I not get another disk ?? .............that is the question

Architect Studio will definetly be a seperate install, but it may be on the same disc. Try browsing the disc with windows explorer, you might find it's in a seperate directory somewhere.

I any case, if you have a valid serial number for Architect Studio, then even if you can't find the install disc, you can just download the Architect Studio trial from the Sony Creative Website, and then using your serial will unlock it as the full version.

I noticed an eBay vendor for Vegas Studio Pro said in his auction that DVD Architect is not included but Studio is a genuine licensed version on a genuine disc with unused serial number. He had quite a few for sale. I don't know how they source the software but it explains the cheap price.

I'm wondering if you bought it from eBay or a similar seller on Amazon? Perhaps they didn't declare the DVD Architect disc wasn't included. Naughty.

Well I would suggest sticking with Vegas. It's by far the best option on the PC in my opinion.

Have you had any luck locating DVD Architect? It's either on a seperate disc, or in another directory somewhere on the same disc as Vegas. You're looking for a file called dvdarchitectstudio45d_enu.exe (although the version '45d' may be slightly different). Try using the windows search option to search your install disc for dvdarchitectstudio*.exe

If you can find a serial number for DVD Architect (it may be printed alongside the Vegas serial), then you can just download and install DVD Architect from here.

Alternatively, as others have suggested, maybe your DVD Architect install disc is just missing? If this is the case, then try contacting Sony Creative support, and explain the situation, telling them where you bought it from. If it was just a packaging error, then they may be able to issue you with a DVD Architect serial number if you give them your valid Vegas serial.

Re: Sony Vegas Help

Hi Koolpc.

I've downloaded the trial version of Vegas Movie Studio Platinum to see if it’s something I like, and also came across the Training Video page (link below). Do yourself a favour and watch the videos before you make a decision to ditch the software. I’ve been using Ulead for a few years now and I must say that I’m very impressed with Vegas.

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/...?prod=vegaspro
(This is for Vegas Pro, but it also applies to Vegas Movie Studio Platinum)
