Blast from the past - Panasonic DX100/110

Hi guys, one for those of you with long memories to think about.

I'm about to do a multi camera shoot of an amateur theatre production. I've laid my hands on several relatively modern (but not HD) camcorders, which will shoot in widescreen.

I've also been offered an old Panasonic NX-DV110. I know from the past that this had a great reputation and was one of the first 3 CCD consumer camcorders. Reading the manual on-line, it talks about a "Cinema" mode. I've done a sweep across the net, but can't find any more details about this.

Does anyone know anything about this? Is it anamorphic(?) or is it just black bars at the top and bottem of the image, robbing me of resolution.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes just black bars top and bottom.

Thanks Phil, just got hold of the camera and run some tests, and you are spot on. Unfortunately.........

I don't fancy paying $750 for an anamorphic adapter though.....

There is an Optex one on ebay for a lot less money, but it's a 52mm thread (as opposed to 48mm on the camera) Could always use a step-up, but I've really no idea if it would work.

Any thoughts?

Paul
