Question Hama Post Prod Editor & Sony

Does anybody know if it is possible to use the Sony TRV245E Handycam with the Hama Easy Cut edit controller? The spec says it uses 5 pin control (is this just for panasonic?) or is this the s-video out jack? Also what is a IR controlled video recorder?
(the Hama controller can be viewed at www.keene.co.uk).

The 5 pin control is just Panasonic (not S-Video). For Sony etc you use the Lanc/Control-L, but your camcorder is not listed as having these connections (looked at www.sony.co.uk for specs). If the manual says that the cam does have Lanc then you will be able to use the editor.
IR VCR is a video recorder that uses an infra-red remote control (ie just about all of them).

To be honest, these days you would be far better doing all your editing on the PC. For the same sort of money as the Hama unit you can add a DV card & software to most modern PC's.

Mark.

Thanks for the reply, however I have already taken the advice you give. I have put in a firewire card and got Magix "Movies On CD & DVD". Everything works!!! Getting good results with VCD, now going to try S-VCD.
